Ms. Ceonna Samuels
Certified Scholars owner, Ms. Ceonna Samuels is the great-granddaughter of one of Richmond Public Schools System finest retired teacher’s, Mrs. Jessie Samuels. Mrs. Jessie instilled the importance of education in all her students and family. Ms. Ceonna is continuing that tradition today. Certified Scholars was started in 2015 and has grown with the times, serving our youth throughout the pandemic, any way we can. Our Scholars become family and we remain there for them in the gaps.

MEET OUR TUTORS
Ms. Briana Baugham is a 2017 graduate of Old Dominion University, where she obtained her bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with an emphasis is Elementary Education. Ms. Baugham has been with CSES, Inc. since 2020 and loves her work. She is also a 5th grade teacher at Ratcliffe Elementary in Henrico County. Ms. Baugham loves helping children and strengthening their academics.
Ms. Marshae Pompey is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University and current student at Virginia Commonwealth University. She holds a bachelor’s in Psychology and is a QMHP-C counselor. Ms. Marshae began working with CSES, Inc. in the summer of 2020 and her students love her. She goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to our Scholars and thrives from their success.
MRS. CHASTITY COX
Mrs. Chastity ‘Chas’ Cox was born and raised in Goochland County. She completed an undergraduate studies at Hampton University (c/o 2012) and graduate studies at Virginia Union University (c/o 2017). Mrs. Cox have been with Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) since fall of 2017, starting as a reading instructional assistant in grades K-5. For the past two years, she has worked at Montrose Elementary (East End) as an integrated services (special education) instructor and case manager for grades K-5. She is eager pour into Scholars during in-person tutoring session at our Eastend location.
Ms. Jade Pettaway is currently a senior at Appomattox Regional Governor’s School. She has been tutoring since her sophomore year of high school and plans on furthering her education at the University of Virginia in the Fall. Ms. Jade has tutored in Math, Science, English and Spanish and is looking forward to working to helping Scholars succeed!
